Description

Willie Wagtail is a more restrained Rare Series release, matured in a third-fill French oak ex-Pinot Noir barrel from Scotchmans Hill Winery.

With the cask taking a quieter role, the spirit comes forward: creamy, textured and beautifully balanced, with lemon, vanilla, almond, coconut and malt at the centre.

How to Drink It

Start neat and give it time in the glass.
At 50% ABV, a few drops of water can help open up the citrus, almond and creamy malt notes while keeping its balance intact.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Lemon meringue pie, vanilla wafer and Amaretti biscuits
Palate: Coconut friands, toasted sourdough with cashew butter and a drizzle of honey
Finish: Satin-textured and richly mouth-coating, with lingering creaminess and a long malted fade

The Story Behind The Bottle

Willie Wagtail was matured in a third-fill 100L French oak ex-Pinot Noir barrel from Scotchmans Hill Winery.
Rather than dominating the whisky, the well-seasoned cask steps back and lets our new make take centre stage.
Like the bird that inspired its name, Willie Wagtail is lively, energetic and never far from the action.
It is also our smallest release of 2026 and the final whisky in this year’s Rare Flight collection.
