Crimson Rosella is one of our most unconventional single malts: rich with dried fruit, confectionery sweetness and warming spice, yet vibrant enough to keep you coming back for another sip.

A limited Rare Series release for whisky drinkers who appreciate experimentation, complexity and a bottle with a story behind it.

How to Drink It

Take your time with this one.
Start neat and let the fruit, spice and confectionery notes open in the glass. A small splash of water can help reveal more of the layers.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried apricot, prune, citrus peel, toasted oak and beeswax
Palate: Red jelly frogs, custard tart, frangipane and sticky toffee pudding
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dried fruit and syrupy cake sweetness

The Story Behind The Bottle

Crimson Rosella began in an American oak ex-Heathcote Shiraz cask from Peregrine Ridge Winery.
That same cask had previously matured our Rosey & The Rabbits barrel-aged gin, seasoned with Turkish apricot and black lime.
Not exactly traditional whisky territory. We decided to see where it would take us.
The whisky was then blended with 30% ex-bourbon-matured whisky before being returned to refill wine casks for its final maturation and integration.
Named after one of Australia’s most colourful native birds, Crimson Rosella is much like the whisky itself: vibrant, distinctive and difficult to ignore.
